Focus Groups
St. Faith’s is a dynamic community of people with interests in a wide variety of areas and activities. People with common interests have formed a number of groups to which all are welcome.
Choir
St Faith’s Choir consists of up to 15 singers and meets each Wednesday night at 8pm in the Church. They sing a mixture of contemporary and traditional church music, accompanied on the historic 1873 Pipe Organ (they are also sometimes joined by a trumpeter). Apart from their provision of music for the 8.30am Sunday Service, the Choir also sings at nursing homes, joins with choirs from other churches for festivals etc. and does occasional paid performances. We are always looking for new members! If you are interested, contact Helen on 9913 8129 or the Church Office.
Quilting Club
Members of all standards meet each Thursday morning to work on their own quilting and patchwork projects, and for occasional outings to craft exhibitions and shows. One meeting a month is devoted to a group project to help community or mission groups. To find out more, contact Judith Baker (9982 6279)
Scrapbooking Club
On the last Monday each month at 9.30am until 1-2pm, bring lunch if necessary. All levels cartered for and assistance provided. To find out more, contact Barbara Syme (9982 4194).
Mission Committee
This group works within the St. Faith’s community to heighten awareness of, and prayer and support for, local and overseas mission. It particularly focuses on the St. Faith’s link missionaries, who work with the Church Missionary Society and other organisations in various parts of the world. Contact the Church Office (9971 1048) for more information.
Prayer Fellowship
The prayer fellowship distributes a list of prayer points, enabling people to pray regularly for the needs of other members in the church. The group meets twice a year to renew its commitment and receive updated points for prayer. Contact Ross Cusworth (9938 2338) to find out more.
Seniors’ Fellowship Group
We thank God for the fellowship we share during this time of Christian friendship for men & women 55 years plus. For anyone interested in joining us, we meet on the first and third Wednesday of the month in the old church at 10.30 a.m. We enjoy morning tea, interesting talks, displays and the occasional outing, bring a sandwich for your lunch at noon. We would love for you to join us. To see our current program and contact details click here.
The Mothers’ Union
The aim of Mothers’ Union is to be especially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life. “Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfil the law of Christ” Galatians 6:2.
Mothers’ Union Inc is a worldwide organization within the Anglican Church. There are now 3.5 million members in 76 countries, all linked in prayer through the Mothers’ Union “Wave of Prayer”. Members pay a $22 annual subscription fee to Mothers’ Union, Sydney Diocese.
At St Faith’s Mothers’ Union members are involved in:
- Supporting (by sharing Christ’s love) chaplains at Westmead and Randwick Children’s Hospitals, women’s prison and the Juvenile Justice Centre.
- Visiting Mona Vale Hospital maternity ward with Christian literature and a gift for the baby.
- Collecting Christmas gifts for the families of prisoners.
- Selling Christian greeting cards each Sunday at St Faith’s and Warriewood Anglican to support the work of Mothers’ Union.
- Supporting the Mission Aid Group (MAG).
We would value your prayers in this ministry.
We hold an afternoon tea meeting on the second Tuesday of the month, commencing at 1.30 p.m. in the social area of St Faith’s. New members of all ages are very welcome.
